B2B Sales Pains

To start, I am not a salesperson, but I am having to be.

Being an entrepreneur is a hard gig, especially finding a reliable salesperson. I never thought it would be so difficult to find a reliable salesperson. I thought they may not sell a ton, but I thought they would work hard and be self motivated and not disappear.

Right now, the longest a salesperson has stayed around and not just up and vanished is 2 weeks. That is painfully sad, especially for someone who works commission.

So with all that, I have had to step in and try to do some sales. No, I am not pounding the pavement, but I am calling referrals and trying to set appointments and running the appointments when I can get them.

The funny thing is that I am trying to sell a free digital marketing platform to local Eugene Oregon business. Mainly to bars, restaurants and foot traffic/hang out awhile type locations, but again.. FREE.

Yes we have paid services, and I do go to those appointments as well, but those are simple website design projects.

To get a hold of a decision maker AND have them give you 20 minutes is almost impossible. I could probably have better luck, if I had real time and willingness to go out everyday to get that time, but I have all the work and another job to do.

So if you are a small business owner, please give someone 20 minutes in a realistic timeframe.
